Y&R Star Hayley Erin’s Haunting New Movie Promises To Keep You On The Edge Of Your Seat

The Young and the Restless star Hayley Erin goes from Claire’s twisted upbringing to a woman on the run in New Life. Recently, the actress shared details about her thrilling feature film debut.

Proud Of New Life

From being murdered as Kiki Jerome on General Hospital, to being horrifically manipulated as Claire on Y&R, Erin certainly knows her way around horror and mind-bending psychological thriller stories.

Recently, she excitedly shared a poster of her current film New Life on X, formerly Twitter, writing, “NEW LIFE is OUT NOW! So excited to share this harrowing, thrilling, beautiful piece of cinema with you all. Erin also spoke to Digital Journal about the movie. Marveling at the project, she stated, “It has been such an incredible experience. This is my first feature film, which is so exciting. From the minute that I read the script until now, I couldn’t have enjoyed the entire process more.” Feeling that it filled her creative needs and was well-made, she added, “I am just so proud of the final product, and I am so happy that it is finally out in the world.”

The film, written and directed by John Rosman and co-starring Sonya Walger and Tony Amendola, is about “A mysterious woman on the run, and the resourceful fixer assigned to bring her in. Their two unique stories inextricably link, as the stakes of the pursuit rise to apocalyptic proportions,” per IMDb. 

A Great Cast And Crew

Erin didn’t get to work with Walger as much as she would have liked, but the two did get to know each other off-screen, and she praised her castmate by stating, “Sonya was an incredible scene partner for the really big climactic scenes that we had together, and I was so grateful to share those with [her].” 

She also praised Rosman’s writing, directing, and editing of the film, remarking that, “It was so unique, nuanced, and it has such intelligent storytelling while being intriguing with the genre shift that takes place.” She further added, “It was unlike anything I have ever read before. I read it twice after that because I just enjoyed it so much before I even met with him. This was also his first feature.”

Feeling grateful for the opportunities life has presented her, she revealed that she had made a lot of friends on GH, including Robert Palmer Watkins (ex-Dillon), who attended the New Life premiere. “He is such an incredible friend,” she explained, noting the love and support she’s received and remarking, “He is just my biggest fan, and I [am] just so grateful for him.”
