A familiar face from General Hospital is joining the cast of The Young and the Restless. Actress Kelsey Wang, who played Daisy on GH, is set to make her debut on the top-rated CBS soap next month.
Kelsey Wang Joins The Cast of The Young and the Restless
According to Y&R, Kelsey Wang has been cast in the role of Allie, “a mysterious, young professional who catches the eye of one of Genoa City’s eligible bachelors.” Previously, the actress played the part of Daisy Kwan, who was involved in the Dawn of Day storyline on GH. She appeared on the show from 2018-20. Her other credits include the Netflix series Daredevil, the dual language pilot Journey to the East, and Chimerica.
Storyline Speculation
Y&R is keeping details under wraps as to what Allie’s story will entail, but could the “eligible bachelor” be Noah (Rory Gibson) or Moses (Jacob Aaron Gaines) — although Moses is dating Faith Newman (Reylynn Carter), the show could tell a young love triangle story?
However, “catching the eye” doesn’t necessarily mean a romantic entanglement — it could mean that there’s some interest that’s sparked for a non-romantic reason. Savvy soap head writers tie newbies to existing families. Could Allie be connected to the Abbott clan somehow through Keemo? The character has been referenced lately. And Jack has been getting some mysterious texts urging him to go to Los Angeles.
When Kelsey Wang Will Debut
Kelsey Wang’s first airdate is set for Thursday, March 10. Y&R is set to celebrate its 49th anniversary next month n March 26. The series was created by the late William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell. Soap Hub extends a warm welcome to Wang as she embarks on this new role.
