Eric Braeden has played Victor Newman on The Young and the Restless since 1980 and is still going strong. He’s overcome bladder cancer and has continually updated fans on his health status. Now, the powerhouse soap star shows his strength and stamina with an amazing video he shared on social media.
He Loves Hitting The Bag
Recently, Braeden posted a video on X, formerly Twitter, illustrating his tremendous power and endurance. Clearly sweating, he was in a gym throwing jabs, punches, and uppercuts at a hanging punch bag called an aqua bag. This particular type of punch bag isn’t filled with soft materials but rather water, which simulates striking a human body.
The video clip was only 40 seconds long, and it was evident that he probably worked on the bag far longer than that. The 83-year-old actor perfectly demonstrated that he’s in great shape by delivering several crushing blows, with his caption reading, “This is one of the workouts that keep me going!” (Check out his praise for the USA Olympics team.)
Fans Were Impressed
Nearly all of his followers responded with awe at his physical prowess, as one wrote, “😊😁 That is a great way to keep you in good health mentally and physically…oh you also [look] amazing keep up the punching 😁😊.” Braeden reacted with the emojis: “👍🤣🙏.”
Illustrating that his fans have truly been following his impressive career, one responded, “I remember seeing photos of you doing some boxing workouts about 30 years ago and I swear it was like the stills back then were from the video here. Looking great, Eric!” Another blown-away follower replied, “Looking good. Really enjoy seeing you on The Young and The Restless. You make ruthless look good, sir. Continued good health to you.” (Find out what Y&R scenes he teased.)
We’re glad Braeden keeps in great shape so he can continue to allow Victor to rule Genoa City!
