Eric Braeden saw a political storyline play out on The Young and the Restless when Victor’s wife, Nikki, ran against Jack, Victor’s foil, for a seat in the State Senate of Wisconsin. Now, the actor is talking about a real-life election that will affect viewers’ real lives. He’s talking about the upcoming United States presidential election.
TV viewers often prefer celebrities to act and not impose or share their political views as they may differ. However, Braeden has taken to social media to share with his followers because he feels it’s important for them to vote. And, knowing the actor, he isn’t afraid to incur the wrath of those who may vehemently disagree with him! In fact, the actor speaks out regularly on issues that are important to him.
“The country I was born in [Germany], a time I’ve spent a lifetime trying to understand!” Braeden shared in the comments section of his post. “My fellow AMERICANS, let us organize and vote to prevent this from happening here! I love this country!”
Braeden’s referring to his post that reads: “In March 1933, the Enabling Act became law in Germany, giving the German Chancellor the ability to enforce his own laws without checks and balances, he could enact laws without concern for the constitution. The passing of the Act marked the formal transition of Germany from a Democratic Republic to a totalitarian dictatorship.
“Six months later,” Braeden’s post continued, “Germany was controlled by one party, and Nazi Germany was born.”
