Eric Braeden usually keeps fans on their toes when he plays the role of Victor Newman. They never know what the patriarch is going to do next. Braeden shocked The Young and the Restless fans with his latest move. He announced his departure from X.
X Doesn’t Mark the Spot
Braeden posted a screenshot on his Instagram account and announced that he had deactivated his X account. X is Elon Musk’s version of Twitter. At the time of this article, 115,000 users had left the social media site, per Independent. Most of them have moved to Threads or Bluesky.
The exodus has encouraged celebrities to leave the social network for good. Braeden didn’t need an explanation for his departure. He didn’t even write a caption in his Instagram post. As always, Y&R fans took a moment to react to Braeden’s post in the comment section. He received overwhelming support.
“So much hate in the world. We still love you! ❤️ Grew up watching you on Y&R. My grandparents loved you!” one supportive user wrote. “I don’t blame you. I’ve done the same,” another user commented.
Of course, there were also rude comments. One user snarked, “Stick with acting; we don’t care who you voted for.” They referred to Braeden’s comments. He included the hands-up emoji and then wrote, “Not going to support this MAGA CRAP!!”
Y&R Stars Leave Social Media Site
Braeden isn’t the only one who’s left X in recent days. His co-star Camryn Grimes announced that she left the social media site after witnessing more negativity than usual. (Read More About The ‘Bad Vibes’ She Received.)
Because of this, it’s important to be on the lookout for imposters. Both Braeden and Grimes gave up their official X accounts. This gives cybercriminals the upper hand. They could eventually claim and use their accounts to get money from fans or spread misinformation.
It doesn’t just happen on X. Courtney Hope, who plays Sally, warned fans about the dangers of impersonating accounts on Threads. Impersonation scams can occur anywhere online. This is an important reminder to follow accounts with a verification badge.
