Former The Young and the Restless star Doug Davidson was fortunate enough to spend some time with his bestie, General Hospital alum-turned-rock star Rick Springfield. The rocker is currently touring with Richard Marx, but was able to squeeze in lunch with Davidson. They each shared a selfie from the luncheon, and a good time was had by both.
Marx Felt Left Out
Davidson, who played Y&R’s Paul Williams (no relation to the famed singer/songwriter of the same name) from 1978 to 2020 shared his pic to Instagram with the caption, “Luncheon with the BFF! @rickspringfield at the lovely @rosewoodmiramarbeach it was great!!👍.” Co-star Lauralee Bell (Christine) responded with, “Greatest twosome at the greatest place! 😍.” When a fan asked if he had any upcoming acting projects, Davidson responded, “Actually, I’m not looking. Forty plus years seems like it’s enough.”
Meanwhile, Springfield posted his copy of the pic, writing, “#repost • @dougdavidsonyr Luncheon with the BFF! @rickspringfield at the lovely @rosewoodmiramarbeach it was great!!👍.” Richard Marx, who is most famous for his hit song Right Here Waiting, hilariously responded, “Feeling very left out! 😂,” with Davidson replying eagerly, “Rain check!!”
Fans Love Both Actors
Among the other soap stars who chimed in were GH alum Ingo Rademacher (ex-Jax) who shared an applause emoji, and The Bold and the Beautiful’s Don Diamont with, “👍🏼❤️. A fan of both responded on Springfield’s post with, “❤️love ya both♥️. Doug you were the reason I loved Young and Restless. Dont watch anymore though. And Rick you were my first concert and seen you 7 times. You both are amazing ❤️.”
Springfield’s major hit was Jessie’s Girl, but one of his followers chose another song as their favorite. “Hello, Guys!!❤️Rick, I’ve seen You 3 times and got Your Autograph and Pic this last time in Fargo,ND…YOU are so brilliant BTW, I’m mad for My Father’s Chair ❤️…so 😢 truthful😢…Love You always, Rick❤️.” (Find out how the former soap stars flashed back to cheerful times.)
Clearly, the two continually enjoy each other’s company!
