The Young and the Restless star Courtney Hope is in a select group of actors — ones who have appeared on both YR and its sister soap, The Bold and the Beautiful. Her character Sally is a relative newcomer to Genoa City, but because she started out in L.A., she’s celebrating a lengthier milestone!
Congratulations, Courtney Hope
“I was reminded today that my first episode as Sally Spectra aired yesterday FOUR years ago- January 31st, 2017!” Hope shared on Instagram. “I cannot believe I have spent the last four years doing what I love, exploring my life as Sally, surrounded by the most creative, astonishing people and having a blast doing it!
“Thanks @boldandbeautifulcbs and @youngandrestlesscbs for giving me a space to play, create and grow!” Hope added. “Thanks to all my fellow actors for the unforgettable memories and fun! Thanks to the makeup, wardrobe, and hair teams for always finding new styles for me to express. Thanks to all the writers, producers, and directors for the life experiences Sally gets to explore. And thanks to the fans for all the love the support — Here’s to many more! #SallySpectraJr.”
Hope’s daytime pals chimed in with congratulatory posts. Among them was one from Hope’s former leading man, Pierson Fodé (ex-Thomas, the role that’s now played by Matthew Atkinson). “The best small spectra I ever could’ve imagined,” Fodé posted. To which Hope responded: “@piersonfode ☺️ we made a good team! Thanks for co-creating with me and taking part in making it come true for this lil redhead.”
Sally had romances with Thomas and Wyatt (Darin Brooks) and shared a kiss with Liam (Scott Clifton) after Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) blew up Spectra Fashions, but she struck out in the romance department. Might her fortune by changing now that she’s changed locales? Stay tuned to find out!
Soap Hub congratulates Hope on four years of playing Sally and we look forward to many more! The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for airtimes.
