The Young and the Restless’ Bryton James was so thrilled with his recent Daytime Emmy nomination that he dug out a video clip from his past to express his enthusiasm. Showing that he’s still a kid inside, the video captured the hearts of fans everywhere.

Lil Richie’s All Grown Up

The 2024 Daytime Emmy nominees are buzzing with excitement, and Y&R’s Bryton James (Devon) is going up against an amazing assortment of contenders for the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Daytime Drama Series category. The other four competitors include Robert Gossett (Marshall, General Hospital), Wally Kurth (Justin, Days of Our Lives), A Martinez (Nardo, The Bay), and Mike Manning (Caleb, The Bay).

While some fans are miffed that their favorite actors or shows may have been snubbed, rest assured that it’s hard to pick candidates as everyone always gives 100% to their performances. James’ Devon has had his hands full dealing with family, business, and his estranged father, Tucker (Trevor St. John), and he certainly gave memorable performances in 2023. This will be his ninth nomination, and he’s got two wins under his belt.

James Shared a Blast From the Past

To illustrate how profoundly happy he was for the nomination, James posted a video clip of him playing Richie Crawford on the 1990’s hit sitcom, Family Matters. In it, Lil Richie is dancing like Michael Jackson as the audience cheered heartily. He captioned it, “How I felt this morning hearing the news! Congratulations to the entire @youngandrestlesscbs family!!! Especially @therealstafford @ericbraedengudegast @allisonvlanier @thecourtneyhope & @linden_ashby 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽.”

The video reel James had submitted for Emmy consideration also included co-star Mishael Morgan (Amanda), along with scenes that included Sean Dominic (Nate) and Christel Khalil (Lily). Everyone loved the video clip including co-star Tracey Bregman (Lauren), who responded with the hopeful, “You MUST do this for us on set! 🔥.” The Bold and the Beautiful’s Courtney Hope (Sally) also wrote, “Stoppppp 😭😂! This is incredible! Expecting an after party reenactment of this dance — congrats again!!”

Other castmates who responded included Haley Erin (Claire), Amelia Heinle (Victoria), Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea), and Michelle Stafford (Phyllis) who replied, “Amazing!!!!!!!!” A few followers had no idea that he was on Family Matters, and were pleasantly surprised. The congratulations rolled on, and fans were extremely happy for him.
