Fans took to the comments section of Flynn’s interview to share their thoughts. Some fans wanted to know what happened to Cane’s signature accent. “Um, what happened to his accent?” one fan asked. Meanwhile, others admitted they were disappointed by Flynn’s version of Cane, even though it was only his first episode.

“What a letdown. If they were actually going to make Aristotle Dumas be Cane Ashby, they should have brought back Daniel Goddard!” one fan noted. Another user wrote, “I’m sure Billy Flynn is a good actor in his own right; however, I am sad that the role of Cane was recast. [Daniel Goddard] was made for the role of Dumas! No more Aussie accent, with that smile??” Flynn is well-renowned in the soap world. He previously played Chad DiMera on Days of our Lives.
