This would make for a thrilling soap storyline. Someone is supposedly dead but comes back to life. But to lie about someone’s death isn’t wrong. This happens frequently to celebrities, especially in the age of social media. The Young and the Restless star Beth Maitland was the latest victim of cruel rumors about her death. She took to social media to set the record straight.

Putting The Rumors To Rest

Every so often, a celebrity’s name trends on social media. People assume they passed away, and the rumors spread. Maitland caught wind of the rumors about her supposed death. She took to X, formerly Twitter, to clear up the chaotic news.

“lol. The rumors of my death are greatly exaggerated. Shame on people who have nothing else to do but exploit others. Get a life,” Maitland bluntly wrote. She wasn’t going to let these people get away with it. It sounds like scammers were making Y&R fans assume that the actress had passed away. Fans took their thoughts to Maitland’s post.

Some were concerned that Maitland would disappear from her fanbase. “I’m so sorry, Beth. Please don’t give up on us, real fans. Love you,” one user wrote, to which Maitland responded, “Thanks, Jamie.” Another fan was flabbergasted over this supposed rumor. “Say what?! You’re not leaving the show who’s been talking smack?! You want me to rough up someone for you, Miss Beth?!!” another user joked.

Be Safe On Social Media

Most fans shared that they hadn’t heard about this latest gossip. They’ve been enjoying watching Maitland on Y&R lately. It looks like her onscreen persona, Traci, could be trouble. (Traci finds out that Alan isn’t what he seems on Y&R.) But that’s not the case for Maitland. She’s thriving and living life.

As always, be careful of what you read on social media. Make sure that it comes from a legible source. Also, only follow verified accounts on X and other platforms. You’ll know an account is verified when it displays a “blue” checkmark next to the user’s name. With these tips in mind, scams and rumors will die off where they belong.
