7 Things to Know About The Young and the Restless Star Cait Fairbanks

Cait Fairbanks made her daytime debut as Tessa Porter, a young woman with a guitar, who sang outside Crimson Lights for tips.

The character quickly won the hearts of fans of The Young and The Restless (YR) — and Nikki Newman — when they learned she was homeless and living out of her car.

She also won the heart of Noah and the friendship of Mariah, and that’s when things got real interesting.

Fairbanks, who’s new to soaps, has an interesting past. Here are seven things to know about this talented actress.

The Name Game
Born Caitlin Elizabeth Baunoch, she has gone by the names Cait Baunoch and Cait Fairbanks, professionally.

Off-Broadway
Fairbanks began acting when she was eight and has appeared in over 20 professional and regional theater productions. Among them: the critically acclaimed Off-Broadway production of Heathers: The Musical in 2014. She played Veronica.

Musically Inclined
As Y&R fans know, she’s an accomplished musician, who sings and plays the guitar. What Y&R fans might not know is that Fairbanks also plays the piano and writes her own music.

Ready to Rock
Fairbanks is working on releasing her first EP and just released the single, Digging My Own Grave. She describes her sound as dark indie pop.

Animation Inspiration
As a kid, Fairbanks would watch My Little Pony and Barney, memorize the episodes, and perform them for her family as songs. “I always wanted to create everything into a song and was constantly singing,” the actress told Upfront NY.

Food for Thought
While living in New York City, Fairbanks noted that one of her favorite things was the wide array of foods. At the time, she was reading food blogs regularly to make new discoveries. “The food is absolutely fantastic at all times,” said the actress.

Puppy Love
Acting and making music aside, Fairbanks likes to spend her free time with her rescue dog. She named the pup Millie Furbanks.
