Pity poor Noah Newman on The Young and the Restless. He is such an amazing photographer, graphic designer, artist, and multimedia maven, that he had barely set foot back in Genoa City before he was being bombarded with job offers.
Of course, those came from his grandfather, his uncle, his sister’s girlfriend, and his daddy. But that’s just a coincidence. He would have gotten all those entreaties even if his last name weren’t Newman! Which job should he graciously accept? What over 4,000 voters had to say:
Go work for your daddy, 60% of the audience urges. Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow) is exactly who you want to be. An independent agent, who made his own fortune and his own success independent of his father. All he did was take millions from his trust fund and turn it into a successful company, all on his own. Noah (Rory Gibson) could take a lesson!
Sure, being a freelance artist is hard, 33% of you sympathize. He’ll never know where his next commission is coming from, he’ll never know when he’ll get paid or if he’ll be able to make rent at the end of the month. Poor Noah will only have his own trust fund millions to fall back on. Still, you believe in him, and trust that he can manage the risk.
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) only got 7% of the vote. They are corporate and boring and stodgy and old-fashioned. Noah is young and hip and his own man. If he works for Adam and Victor, he won’t be able to express himself like he did with Tessa Porter’s (Cait Fairbanks) album cover…which he designed for Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) corporate publishing label. But that was different. He’s still a rebel!
