It is spring on The Young and the Restless, and one teen story is definitely ramping up. We’ve got Faith (Reylynn Caster) moving to the front burner with her driving drunk and crashing story as well as her recent health crisis. She’s also being bullied in school, which is where Moses (Jacob Aaron Gaines) defending her comes in.
The Young and the Restless Commentary
However, two teens do not make a scene. Faith and Moses need friends, enemies – and love interests. We have some ideas.
Already Here
There’s Faith’s frenemy, Jordan, but she’s not connected to any core family. What we need is a return of Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) and Mattie (Lexie Stevenson), to start. We have no idea how they feel about Lily (Christel Khalil) and Cane’s split, or her new relationship with Billy (Jason Thompson).
What if the formerly sweet and innocent Mattie is now cranky and bitter? What if good guy Charlie proves not so good if he and uncle Moses (yeah, ages on soaps are weird) both set their eyes on the same girl?
But, Wait, There’s More!
Let’s get Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) home. He and Mattie flirted in the past. Will that continue? And will that put Billy between the two moms, Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Lily?
Growing Up
Then again, what about aging Johnny? Would Billy and Lily be able to handle their kids dating? Especially if Johnny turns out to be the bad boy from Billy’s Please-Give-Me-An-Emmy nightmare?
And if Johnny gets aged, why not Katie? And if Johnny and Katie, why not Conner? And if Conner, why not Christian? (The main reason is they’re all related, but it’s a start.)
We’ll also need some fresh blood not thoroughly wrapped in the Newman/Winters family tree. How about Reed’s siblings, Becca and DJ, from his dad’s side? Does the Rosales clan have any cousins? Does Mariah (Camryn Grimes) have any “siblings” from her days at the commune?
Let’s think outside of the box, YR! The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
