Rey and Sharon are planning a New Year’s Eve wedding on The Young and the Restless, but they are not the only couple who could use a kiss on the stroke of midnight? Who should smooch as a mark of a new beginning? What almost 5,000 viewers told us:
The first time Billy (Jason Thompson) and Lily (Christel Khalil) allegedly kissed, an elevator door got in the way of our seeing it. The first time they had sex, we had to assume it happened since we saw them before, we saw them after, and in-between was left to the imagination.
Well, 72% of the audience has had enough. We want to see the love, not just hear about it. Go ahead and kiss, New Year’s Eve is as good of a day to do it as any. And, this time, you’d better let us watch. Although, we guess COVID-19 forces us soap fans to leave a lot up to the imagination…
A smaller 24% of you are not on board with this Billy and Lily thing. Billy obviously still has feelings for Victoria (Amelia Heinle), and they’re the ones you want to see realize it and kiss on the last day of the old year. This is a couple that can’t live with and can’t live without each other, but seeing them try to make it work is still more entertaining than assuming Billy and Lily are living happily ever after – off-screen.
Only 4% had any interest in seeing Billy kiss Amanda (Mishael Morgan). This couple never got a fair shake, they were over before they’d even begun, and some fans are still curious about what might have been. What better time to launch a new love than in a new year? A kiss doesn’t just have to be a kiss. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
