A trio of Genoa City alums have discovered that life after The Young and the Restless is a rewarding mix of fun, travel, and some high-profile projects.
Here’s a look at how Miles Gaston Villanueva (ex-Luca Santori), Melissa Claire Egan (ex-Chelsea Newman) and Sean Carrigan (ex-Ben “Stitch” Rayburn) have been spending their time since saying goodbye to daytime.
Miles Gaston Villanueva
It’s been two years since Miles Gaston Villanueva wrapped his run as the devious Luca Santori. At the time, the actor was excited for the next chapter in his career, even tweeting that “The future looked bright.” It turned out he was spot on.
Following primetime guest spots, including Jane the Virgin (as Sam) and Rosewood (as Ken Daltry) in 2016, Villanueva landed a lead role in 2017’s Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders, playing homicidal sibling Lyle Menendez. The high-profile mini-series upped his level of celebrity, leading to a recurring gig on 2018’s For The People.
Meanwhile, the actor’s personal life has been proceeding happily. He’s still seeing longtime girlfriend Sabina Zuniga Varela, who he met while co-starring in a production of Water by The Spoonful at TheatreWorks in Palo Alto, California.
Melissa Claire Egan
Since Chelsecon-woman returned to her con-woman roots and split town with her son Connor in February 2018, Melissa Claire Egan has been laying low professionally and making the most of her time off.
Egan took a trip to Spain, followed by one to New Orleans in April.
Then, she and her husband Matt Katrosar embarked on a once in a lifetime vacation to Japan, where they attended a Tokyo baseball game and explored sites like the Meiji Jingu Shrine in Kyoto and the Bamboo…continue reading on the next page —>
Egan took a trip to Spain, followed by one to New Orleans in April. Then, she and her husband Matt Katrosar embarked on a once in a lifetime vacation to Japan, where they attended a Tokyo baseball game and explored sites like the Meiji Jingu Shrine in Kyoto and the Bamboo Forrest.
The actress and her man also celebrated a wedding anniversary on July 26, and Egan took to Twitter to share her love for her hubby. “Four years baby!! I love you more than Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson love each other, and it seems like they love each other a lot. Happy Anniversary @katrosar.”
Sean Carrigan
Sean Carrigan’s role as Dr. Ben “Stitch” Rayburn came to an abrupt end after his character divorced Abby (Melissa Ordway). But the former professional boxer, standup comic, and very resilient actor quickly forged forward.
Carrigan landed a guest spot on NCIS (as Michael Vinton) in 2017, before being cast on the Netflix series American Vandal, where he plays Coach Rafferty. His biggest coup, however, has been landing the role of Walt Hansgen in the upcoming feature film Ford v. Ferrari, which stars Matt Damon and Christian Bale.
On the personal front, Carrigan has been enjoying his summer, escaping the hustle and bustle of LA for a trip to France. While there he visited Le Mans Museum and took a bike ride along the Seine River.
