They’ve been friends for years and now Lauralee Bell of The Young and the Restless is teaming up with Martha Byrne of As the World Turns for an exciting new project!
The two stars are most likely working on a Web series as they have delved into that arena in the past. Bell won a Daytime Emmy for mI Promise, a web series on the dangers of texting and driving in 2014. Byrne created the web series Gotham and won an Emmy for her roles in Anacostia in 2015.
Both actresses have a lot in common even though their soaps were on opposite coasts. While Bell’s Cricket was Y&R’s teen heroine facing adversity as she sought out romance and fulfillment, Byrne was living a similar onscreen life as ATWT’s tragic Lily, who learned that her best friend was, in reality, her birth mother!
“Lauralee probably had one hundred times more pressure than I had,” Byrne’s noted about Lauralee. “People would say, ‘Oh, she’s [Y&R creator] Bill Bell’s daughter.’ But I don’t see anyone in that family giving anyone opportunities that doesn’t deserve them. You have to earn your place at the table.”
Stay tuned for what the actresses’ project is and when you’ll be able to see it. Soap Hub will keep you posted on all the details!
