Melissa Claire Egan is proudly representing The Young and the Restless in the Outstanding Leading Actress in a Drama Series category of the 48th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards for her portrayal of Chelsea Lawson. Many of the performer’s daytime pals — past and present — are congratulating the talented performer on her nod.

Justin Hartley Toasts Melissa Claire Egan

“Honored to be on this list,” Egan posted. “I love my job, this show, this cast, this crew. Very grateful! #daytimeemmys.” The actress’s fellow nominees include Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy, The Bold and the Beautiful) and a trio of talented General Hospital leading ladies including Genie Francis (Laura), Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis), and Finola Hughes (Anna/ex-Alex).

“This is such great news!” Justin Hartley (ex-Adam) wrote on Egan’s Instagram page. “Congratulations Missy!! Very well earned for sure.” Hartley wasn’t the only YR star who took the opportunity to give kudos to Egan. Melissa Ordway (Abby) used five “heart” emojis to share her joy over Egan’s news.

Egan’s former All My Children castmate and current YR chum Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe; ex-Maggie/Frankie, AMC) wrote, “Yaaasssssss” followed by seven applauding hands emojis. Jason Thompson (Billy) wrote, “Congratulations Missy! Well done.” Other daytime pals including Greg Rikaart (Kevin), Courtney Hope (Sally), Cameron Mathison (ex-Ryan, AMC), Lauralee Bell (Christine), Tamara Braun (Ava, Days of our Lives), Jordi Vilasuso (Rey), and Jessica Collins (ex-Avery, YR) also congratulated Egan.

The talented actress also received a social media nod from her real-life leading man, TV executive Matt Katrosar, who appeared on YR last year a few times to work with his wife when Chelsea was tended to by a paramedic and later, kidnapped by a man hired by Adam (Mark Grossman). “So proud of the Lead Actress Emmy nomination for my leading lady,” Katrosar posted on his Instagram account.

Egan’s no stranger to Daytime Emmy nominations. She’s been previously acknowledged by her peers six times. Egan’s earned three nods for her role as Annie on AMC in 2009, 2011, and 2012. She was nominated in 2013 and 2014 for playing Chelsea. This is the actress’s first nom as Outstanding Leading Actress.

The 48th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will air on Friday, June 25 at 8 p.m. on CBS. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
