Adam Newman stopped being gentle in letting down Chelsea Lawson on The Young and the Restless, and it may have lit the match, sending her over the edge…again.
Young and the Restless Flames
Once upon a time, Adam (Mark Grossman) and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) seemed perfect for each other with Adam’s previous portrayer. The duo enjoyed riding the edge of the law, seeming to grow closer as they each took more risks. However, this time around, it might be time to stick a fork in this once-hot romance because it’s too toxic — as Adam keeps reminding his ex.
We had such high hopes for Chelsea’s mental stability when she returned to Genoa City. It seemed she’d finally gotten her head on straight after experiencing a literal head injury. Supposedly Chelsea went for therapy and she had a new perspective on life. However, as things haven’t gone quite how she’d hoped with her homecoming, cracks in Chelsea’s newfound zen have appeared.
Now, in her frustration, Chelsea’s blurting out things about one-time rival Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) randomly and breaking glasses of alcohol in frustration. She’s also working on making an enemy of Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope). These outbursts have Young and the Restless fans questioning whether or not she had any counseling at all. After all, what self-respecting therapist would sign off with a reunion with Adam after all the pain of their past?
Bad Girl Chelsea Rides Again
Of course, it’s no secret that Y&R often plays fast and loose with Chelsea’s growth (usually in an effort to prop up Adam). However, we’re here for that since her portrayer does an excellent job playing Chelsea as the bad girl.
Frankly, we can’t wait to see what happens as Chelsea’s frustrations grow. We expect these embers to combust into flames, and nearly everybody in her orbit could get burned.
