Prior to his untimely death in February of this year, Kristoff St John was not only continuing to play Neil Winters on The Young and the Restless, but he was also collaborating on an idea for a TV series with a good friend. Now, there’s an update regarding that show.
The TV pilot, Stripped, which was created by Marc Clebanoff and St. John, has begun production in Reno, Nevada. The cast features actors Casper Van Dien (ex-Ty Moody, One Life to Live), Brooke Lewis Bellas (Breaking Dating), Frank Krueger (ex-Det. Orbach, The Bold and the Beautiful), and S.E. Perry (ex-Dr. Elias, General Hospital).
The show’s cast also includes actors Dat Phan (Danny Phantom), Louis Mandylor (Grace Under Fire), Dominique Swain (Fatal Instinct), Larry Hankin (Friends), and Jennifer Wenger (Sharp News).
Stripped tells the story of Chris Cameron (played by Van Dien), a network TV titan who falls from grace after vouching for the wrong friend. Following a two-year stay in prison for his mistake, Chris now plans to reclaim his rightful place on TV’s hottest show.
With debts piled high, and under the influence of his unconventional publicist Jules (played by Bellas), Chris starts moonlighting as a stripper at one of the most exclusive clubs in L.A.
No word yet on a home for the pilot, but Soap Hub will keep you updated as developments occur. Clebanoff spoke out on St. John’s passing, writing a passionate post on his Facebook page following the actor’s death. He felt there had been some misinformation getting out on his friend and he wanted to set the record straight. He also recalled times in which Kristoff St John stood by him.
“To say he was a good dude is an understatement,” Clebanoff wrote. “This guy always looked after me like a son. When I was less fortunate than I am now, sometimes he’d overpay me when I was working for him just cuz he knew it would help me.” The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS.
