Whenever Jack talks about the man he used to be on The Young and the Restless, he sounds like he’s sorry and is much happier now. But the fans, we kind of miss him.

The Young and the Restless Polling

We miss love ’em and leave ’em Jack. We miss corporate raider Jack. We miss the Jack who had a storyline that wasn’t just giving Kyle advice and tracking down lost jewelry nobody had ever heard of. Does Jack need a storyline that’s about him? What over 4,000 fans would like to see:

Jack In the Box

A winning 87% can’t wait for him to return to the front burner. You want to see him go head-to-head with Victor (Eric Braeden), not share drinks with him. You want him competing with Kyle (Michael Mealor) for women, not offering his son tips he’ll never listen to.

Jack (Peter Bergman) doesn’t just need a story, he needs a love interest. Whether it’s he and Jill (Jess Walton) and finally getting it right this time, or someone completely new, Jack needs to go back to being the leading man he was meant to be. Remember Smilin’ Jack? Remember Bad Boy Jack? We do, and we want him back.

Hit the Road, Jack

Old people driving story? Old people having sex? Old people blocking young people’s light? Eww… that’s icky, say 13% of you. Jack should stick to hanging out at the Abbott mansion, listening to Kyle’s problems, chatting with his sisters, and doing crossword puzzles.

Maybe he can periodically remind Kyle and Theo (Tyler Johnson) to play nicely or even leave the house for a drink with an equally old lady. As long as nothing romantic happens. Time to move aside and let the next generation take over! (Soap Hub doesn’t really believe that.) The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
