When Amanda first popped up on The Young and the Restless, Devon was desperate to get rid of her. Sure, it was bad that she was suggesting Kay (Jeanne Cooper) hadn’t left Devon (Bryton James) billions. But the worst part was – how dare Amanda (Mishael Morgan) be walking around with Hilary’s face? Stop that, woman! Stop that, right now!

Time passed, and Devon magnanimously allowed Amanda to not only keep her face but to put down roots in Genoa City. He helped her learn more when Amanda found out that Hilary was her long-lost twin sister. And he even invited her to come to New York with him – on business – once the secret came out about Elena (Brytni Sarpy) sleeping with Nate (Sean Dominic).

This is unacceptable, 68% of you fume, Devon belongs with Elena. They’re perfect together. (Ignore what Nate said about this all being Devon’s fault – he should have noticed that Nate and Elena have a connection!) Amanda and Devon can be friends. They can even be family. She is his sister-in-law, after all. But leave the romance to Devon and Elena. Amanda can have Nate. Or Billy (Jason Thompson). Devon has never gotten over Hilary, even he and Elena admit that. And Amanda is the next best thing. Heck, who are we kidding – she’s better. Amanda hasn’t pulled any of the stunts Hilary pulled. She’s not just a clean slate, she’s the new and improved version. Devon would be a fool to ignore what’s right in front of him. And 32% of the audience refuses to believe that Devon is a fool.
