Neil (Kristoff St. John) briefly reunited with Lucinda (Nichelle Nichols), the mother who abandoned him as a child, right before she passed away.
With pushing and prodding from Lily, Neil visited his estranged mother at her assisted-living facility on The Young and the Restless. Lucinda explained that she is an alcoholic. While she loved her son and truly wanted to be a mother to him, she knew she was in no condition to do him any good. She purposely stayed out of his life to keep him safe. Neil sobbed and the pair made amends, shortly before Lucinda passed away.
