Y&R’s Victor Newman Strikes a Deal With Claire

Victor Newman has never trusted Claire on The Young and the Restless. Not even now that he knows she’s his long-lost granddaughter, Eve Nicole. Victor hates what Claire and Jordan did to Nikki. And, he hates what Claire is still doing to Victoria. Wouldn’t it be nice if the problem just disappeared from all their lives? Here is how Victor can make it happen…

Victor Newman: A Bit Of A Twist

Claire (Hayey Erin) has already made it clear to Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Cole (J. Eddie Peck) that she has no intention of being their Eve Nicole. Eve Nicole is dead. She’s Claire Grace and she doesn’t want anything to do with them. Claire wants Victoria out of her life. What a coincidence! Victor (Eric Braeden) also wants Claire out of Victoria’s life! But, Vicki has already made it clear that she plans to stand by her daughter, no matter what. Except what if…Claire isn’t really her daughter?

Blood Will Tell

How can that be? Victoria and Cole ran a DNA test that proved Claire was their daughter. But, did they get Claire’s sample directly from her? No, they did not. They got it from a toothbrush found at Claire’s house. You know who else was living at Claire’s house? Claire’s aunt Jordan (Colleen Zenk). Jordan may be evil and twisted and homicidal but we have no reason to believe she was against good dental hygiene. Jordan also, presumably, brushed her teeth. What if it was her toothbrush that Victoria and Cole accidentally picked up and submitted?

Match Game

How come the test showed a genetic match? Well, because Jordan is Cole’s mother’s sister. There is every reason for there to be a genetic connection between them. Once Victor (Eric Braeden) makes that connection, all he needs to do is go to Claire and point out that they have a mutual goal. He’ll prove that she isn’t Victoria’s daughter, which will get Victoria out of Claire’s life. Victor will pull all his available strings to get Claire released from the mental hospital…on the condition that she then gets out of his life. It’s a win-win! Until Victoria finds out what her father did.
