Recently on The Young and the Restless, Adam Newman laid it all on the line with his brother Nick Newman, but the older man remained unmoved.
After many years of scheming and lying and doing whatever he could to take down the Newman family, it seems that Adam (Mark Grossman) has turned over a new leaf. Sure, he started down the road of revenge, but he seems to have reined himself in. Yes, Adam made a mistake by trying to break up with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope), so she could keep her job at Newman Media, but for the most part, he remains a changed man.
Recently, Adam had a heart-to-heart with his brother, Nick (Joshua Morrow). He even called on his giving his niece Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) a kidney recently to try to get Nick to soften towards him. Adam flat-out told Nick that he loved Sally and wanted to give her everything. Because of that, the younger brother asked the older to step out of the picture if he didn’t think he could love Sally.
Instead of backing off, Nick called up Sally and asked her on a date, risking letting his daughter Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) see them in public. Of course, Nick might have thought Adam wasn’t being truthful, so he chose to ignore him. After all, Nick’s used to Adam having an angle on things, so he could’ve assumed that his brother had ulterior motives. Or, perhaps, Nick realized he had some feelings for Sally, and he wanted to make his move. It could be, though, that, as usual, Nick felt competitive toward his brother, so he chose not to back down even amid Adam’s heartfelt confession of love for Sally.
Sally certainly isn’t the first woman that Nick and Adam have tangled over. They’ve both had relationships with Sharon Newman Rosales (Sharon Case), Sage Warner Newman (Kelly Sullivan), and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) in the past. It looks like Sally will be another in a long line of women the Newman brothers fight over.
Will it end differently this time? Could Christian Newman end up caught in the crossfire if Adam gets really angry at Nick? Only time will tell, but this development certainly has the potential for some soapy drama, especially considering that Sally seems to have feelings for both Nick and Adam. What do you think?
