Y&R Tough Love: Why Diane and Jack Need To Straighten Out Kyle Abbott

Kyle Abbott is in yet another snit on The Young and the Restless. He got fired from his job at Newman Media. The one he got due to personal connections. Now, his parents want to use their personal connections to get him back at Jabot. But Kyle — he ain’t feeling it. He’s still too pouty about having lost one job he was utterly unqualified for, and he doesn’t want another job he’s unqualified for to be just handed to him.

Kyle Abbott: Quiet Quitting

So instead of hitting the executive track again at Jabot, Kyle (Michael Mealor) is just living rent-free at his parents’ house, eating their food, letting their staff take care of his kid, and digging his heels in about going back to work. Yeah, he doesn’t feel like it, you know? Give him some space. He’s got to find himself.

Young & Restless: Point of Personal Privilege

Kyle isn’t asking for much. Heck, shouldn’t every 20-something single dad without a college degree or a single job he’s gotten on his own be allowed to sit around Mom and Dad’s house, play with his kid, and take it easy? After all, his life is just so, so stressful right now. Don’t add to it. He’s practicing self-care.

Step Up, Kyle Abbott

Jack (Peter Bergman) may have played around in his early days. But he also held down a job while doing it. And Diane (Susan Walters) worked her way up from model to architect. They both have a work ethic. And it’s about time they taught it to their son.

Y&R: Snap Out of It

Kyle needs a stern talking-to about what a brat he’s being, followed by an ultimatum: Get a job — any job, just pull your own weight. Or else you can move out of the mansion and see who else might be willing to put up with you. Harrison (Kellen Enriquez) can stay. He’s cute. But he doesn’t need a deadbeat dad to suggest Harrison can become a next-generation loafer.
