While nobody can be The Great Victor Newman on The Young and the Restless, it’s clear that some new players are jockeying for the position of the supreme powerful businessman (or woman) in Genoa City. Who will be the next cutthroat, ruthless leader?
Vying For The Crown Of Victor Newman
Obviously, Victor (Eric Braeden) still has his fingers in the pot of the GC business world. However, there’s no denying that he’s no longer running the day-to-day operations. At long last, it seems as if he’s finally settled on crowning Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) as his ruthless heir to the mogul throne. She’s proven to have similar instincts to her father, but so has Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). It’s just too bad that he’s been so hellbent on revenge all these years.
Now, Adam has regained some business power, though, as Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) co-Chief Executive Officer at Jabot. It seems as if Jack is looking to step back some too, and enjoy his life as a grandpa. Ultimately, that could pit brother against sister in the business world, bringing a whole new generation to the ongoing Newman/Abbott feud.
Of course, there’s also the iconic Chancellor Industries — now Chancellor-Winters — that historically vied for the top-dog position. At one point, Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) certainly set the gold standard for business in Genoa City, and now that the company has folded in Neil Winters’s (Christoff St. John) legacy, it’s setting up to be a major player. While Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) certainly don’t seem as cutthroat as Victoria or Adam, they have the chance to prove they aren’t total pushovers.
With Tucker McCall’s (Trevor St. John) surprising return, he’s seemingly fairly Victor-esque. It’s almost like he’s a whole new man. It could be that Tucker ends up taking the top seat at Chancellor-Winters before things are all said and done, which would set him up as a possible ruthless business leader.
For our money, though, we’d bet that it will be Victoria who ends up taking over the throne in the end. Sure, she had a messy love life with Ashland Locke (Robert Newman), but that’s honestly in keeping with the messy love lives of the past business leaders in Genoa City. It doesn’t seem as if somebody that powerful is able to also have his or her personal life in perfect order. We even suspect that Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), who has shown his ruthless side lately, could end up partnering with her.
What do you think? Who will take over to rule the Genoa City business world with a ruthlessness like Victor’s? Let us know in the comments below.
