Oh, Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea Lawson of The Young and the Restless. You are so, so good at, well…everything. You are smart, you are beautiful, you are insightful and you are an inspiration. Just how wonderful is Chelsea? Please, please, please, let us count the ways.
Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) is the best mother in Genoa City. How do we know this? Because she is the only one allowed to actually have a child we’ve seen lately. When Johnny (Paxton Mishkind) was merely Victoria’s (Amelia Heinle) son, he was as out of sight and out of mind as his sister, Katie. Once he learned he was Chelsea’s, now there are pizza nights and hockey games and family togetherness.
Adam’s (Mark Grossman) biological son with Sage, Christian, is ignored by both Adam and Christian’s adoptive dad, Nick (Joshua Morrow). Adam’s biological son with Chelsea, Connor (Judah Mackey), is front and center, playing video games, making science projects, and hanging with his newfound brother, Johnny.
How were Lily (Christel Khalil) and Daniel possibly going to make their therapeutic video game before Chelsea popped up to be their guiding light? Sure, Daniel had the idea, and Lily was the one funding it, but until Chelsea offered her two cents, they were but babes lost in the woods. Thank goodness Chelsea now has a path for them to follow.
Meanwhile, Adam is turning to Chelsea for advice about Sally (Courtney Hope), Billy (Jason Thompson) is drawing inspiration from Chelsea to get his own life in order, and everyone seems to have accepted that Rey’s (Jordi Vilasuso) death was a bigger tragedy for Chelsea than it was for, say, his widow, Sharon (Sharon Case). All roads in Genoa City lead to Chelsea. What would we viewers do if they didn’t?
