Will Young and the Restless Nick Finally Turn on Victor Newman?

Published by

Nicholas Newman has walked out on his father before on The Young and the Restless. He’s walked out on him professionally. He’s walked out on him personally. Each time, Nick had plenty of good reason for doing it, with the worst possibly coming when Victor Newman sided with Adam Newman over Nick when it came to Christian Newman’s custody.

A Young and the Restless Quandary

And yet, each time, Nick has rushed back to his father’s side and pledged his eternal allegiance — eternal being a fluid term. But now, Victor has once again betrayed his son’s trust, by admitting that, after Nick punched Ashland Locke hard enough to kill him, Victor had the body stolen, dumped in his car, and driven into the river. Now Nick is an accessory after the fact (and before the fact, too). Will this finally be the thing that prompts Nick to turn on Victor?

Young & Restless: Pros

There are so many reasons for Nick (Joshua Morrow) to confess all to the police. For one thing, Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) isn’t letting this drop, and coming clean before the cuffs are slapped on them will be better for the entire family.

For another thing, it’s the right thing to do. Nick loves to talk about his morality and his ethics. This would be an awesome opportunity to practice what he preaches. Not to mention demonstrate how he’s not like his father.

Young and the Restless: Cons

On the other hand, Nick doing the right thing would make Victor (Eric Braeden) cranky. We’ll be looking at day after day of him, ranting and raving and foaming at the mouth about how he’s the only one who cares about his family and how he’ll sacrifice anything for them, but do they express an iota of gratitude? No! Never! You got that?!

We don’t believe in covering up crimes. But if it will save us from listening to Victor, we’re willing to make an exception. Will Nick be, though?
