Will Claire Reunite Victoria Newman and Cole on Y&R?

Victoria Newman and Cole Howard were already estranged when their daughter Eve was born prematurely on The Young and the Restless. The baby’s death was the final straw. They haven’t spoken in decades presumably. Yet now that it seems their daughter survived, and Victoria and Cole need to help her get past the trauma she endured at the hands of her obviously mentally unstable aunt, could this be the push they need to reunite?

Y&R: What Have You Done For Me Lately?

It does seem like too much time has passed for Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Cole (J. Eddie Peck) to ever reclaim what they lost. Especially with Nate (Sean Dominic) so recently out of the picture (recall his rejection here). He and Victoria have unfinished business, and even if Victoria needs to focus on Claire (Hayley Erin), if she’s going to take a break for any man, it will probably be Nate, not Cole.

Friends in Need

Then again, Claire is going to want to get to know both of her parents, and Victoria and Cole should be there for her — as friends, nothing more. It would be too confusing for all of them to suddenly force an insta-family. Claire needs to take things slowly. And so do her mom and dad.

Victoria Newman and Cole: A Waiting Game

However, there is nothing to say that a reunion couldn’t happen down the line. Claire will want to hear about her parents’ past, how they met, and how they fell in love — she can skip the part about how they thought they were siblings, or about the various affairs. Victoria and Cole will need to take a trip down Memory Lane. And, as they do it for Claire, they’ll start to remember why they fell in love in the first place. This will inevitably stir up old feelings, one thing will lead to another and, what do you know…it’s the family Claire always wanted!
