Victoria Newman thought she was flying out to rescue her sick mother on The Young and the Restless. Instead of playing hero, she ended up a hostage, poisoned, and then confronted by a young woman who claimed to be the daughter who died as a premature infant over two decades ago. We realize that’s an awful lot to process. Plus, she’s got some toxins to get out of her system which should require more than just a juice cleanse. Once that’s all taken care of, we don’t see how Victoria and Cole can just ignore Jordan and Claire’s claims.

Victoria Newman: Burying My Head in the Sand

We understand why Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and her ex-husband, Cole (J. Eddie Peck), may want to convince themselves that what Jordan (Colleen Zenk) said was impossible. They both stood there and watched their baby girl die. They saw it with their own eyes. They buried her, they mourned her, and they moved on with their lives.

Jordan’s story is ridiculous! Who steals an infant from the hospital? And, where did she just happen to find another baby to put in little Eve Nicole’s place? How could the doctors, not to mention her parents, not notice that this was a different child? There can be no truth to this con!

Welcome to Genoa City

Then again, how many times has Victor (Eric Braeden) “died?” Too many to count, really. How about Nick (Joshua Morrow)? Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) just faked her own death a few months ago. Dare we also mention the amount of times the evil Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) has come back to life?

Genoa City also boasts a whole lot of long-lost children constantly popping up. Mariah (Camryn Grimes) was a secret twin. Paul and Nikki discovered their son, Dylan. Heck, even Katherine (Jeanne Cooper) had an unknown son in Tucker.

Closure Is Needed

Jordan’s story isn’t the craziest thing to happen in Genoa City, which is why we don’t see how Victoria and Cole can ignore it. They need to run a DNA test on Claire (Hayley Erin), stat! And, let the chips fall where they may. Don’t they care that Victor might have another grandchild?
