The Young and the Restless has shown that Abby Chancellor’s family rallies around her in the wake of Christine’s terrible news about Chance. However, Nina Webster remains suspiciously absent after being there for Abby for months while Chance has been away.

Young and the Restless: Where’s Nina

Once again, the CBS soap dropped the ball on what should be an important storyline. Nina (Tricia Cast) stayed with Abby (Melissa Ordway) for months after Chance left for a big assignment so soon after their wedding. Abby’s mother-in-law supported her through the surrogacy with Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and helped out once Dominic arrived.

Now that Abby believes Chance died in the blast, she’s in need again. Her mother, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), is there. In addition, the Young and the Restless spoilers tease that her dad Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), rallies around her during the tragic time. With all that’s going on, it would make sense for Nina to be among the family and friends who rally around Abby and Dominic as they fear the worst happened to Chance. But first — we have to see her react to the news her beloved son has apparently died tragically.

All In The Family

We know that Chance has a history of dying and coming back to life, which he shares with many soap characters. Thankfully, he faked his previous death to enter witness protection, and eventually, he returned.

Ultimately, Chance married Abby, joining Genao City’s three most influential families — the Newmans, Abbotts, and Chancellors. We find it challenging to believe Y&R would kill off a vital legacy character, but his mom should unquestionably think it.

The newlyweds struggled since their wedding. Fertility problems and Chance’s sudden assignment crimped their style for sure. They’ve had almost no relationship at all, which is another bizarre situation the soap created.

However, that weird storyline led to more Nina, which we enjoyed, but it’s puzzling she wouldn’t be there now. Her reaction to her younger son’s death is a story point the soap needs to show us — after all, we saw her bring him into this world. It’s only right she gets the spotlight when news of his leaving it was revealed.
