What Would The Young and the Restless Be Without the Newmans?

On The Young and the Restless, it sure did look like Claire and her demented Aunt Jordan were planning to kill off one of Genoa City’s headliner families. What in the world would the town look like without them if a return engagement by Jordan succeeds?

Young and the Restless: Money Matters

Well, first and foremost, the economy will fall into complete disarray. Newman Enterprises is the main employer, not to mention a tax revenue generator. Victor (Eric Braeden) has made it clear, repeatedly, that he is the only one who can run it properly and the entire thing will collapse on itself without him.

He made it especially clear that if Adam (Mark Grossman) tries running the show, it would fall to pieces. Everyone in Genoa City will starve due to a lack of employment opportunities. Oh, will they miss Victor then?

Lonely Ladies

What will the women of Genoa City do without Nick (Joshua Morrow) to fall in love with? Sharon (Sharon Case), Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan), and Sally (Courtney Hope) would be lost. Sure, they may not be with him now, but the moment someone else pops up in their life, Nick is always there to remind them how awesome he is. Who will they all boomerang back to now?

Broken Men

Without Victoria (Amelia Heinle), who will the devious men of Genoa City gravitate towards? Victoria is so good at picking out the guys who want her for more than just her own charms. There was Ashland (Robert Newman), Nate (Sean Dominic), and even Billy (Jason Thompson). She was like a litmus test. If Victoria likes you, you are up to no good!

Role Model

Then there’s Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott). Without her, who will little girls look up to? Who will show them you can go from stripper pole to high-powered executive, and all you have to do to achieve your dreams is work hard…and marry a rich man? Preferably more than once. Will the little girls of Genoa City actually have to work for what they want? Say it isn’t so!
