Phyllis Summers keeps telling anyone who’ll listen – and anyone who won’t – that she’s a new, better person on The Young and the Restless. But since no one believes her anyway, she might as well chuck it and go back to being the old Phyllis. The one who is fun to watch, rather than this self-righteous, breast-beating, foaming-at-the-mouth, self-pitying version. And, who better than Tucker to re-introduce the new Phyllis to the old?
Phyllis Summers: The Future Is In Your Hands
Tucker (Trevor St. John) is just about the only person willing to speak to Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) these days. Sure, Danny (Michael Damian) let her kiss him. But then, he showed her the door. Daniel (Michael Graziadei) and Summer (Allison Lanier) listen to their mom whine for as long as they can stand it, but then they tell her to get over herself.
Tucker doesn’t just listen, he indulges Phyllis’ fantasies, and he tells her that she can be useful to him. Tucker not only pretends to see Phyllis the way she wants to be seen, but he makes her feel that there is nothing wrong with who she is. (There is SO MUCH wrong with who she is.) So, how could Phyllis not only befriend Tucker but ultimately fall for him, as well?
Cross Double Cross
At least, that’s what Phyllis will want Tucker to think. Phyllis sees what Tucker is doing. He wants her to fall for him so that he can control him. Well, that won’t be happening. Phyllis is too smart for Tucker. She’s too smart for everyone.
What Phyllis is going to do, see, is she’s going to only pretend to align with Tucker. She’ll only pretend to believe that he believes what she wants to believe about herself, and then she’ll fake being in love with him.
Win-Lose-Big Win
Then, he will tell her all his secrets. And then, she will use them against him. Phyllis will win, Tucker will lose, and Jack (Peter Bergman) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) will be sorry they ever dumped her. Everyone will love her, and Diane (Susan Walters) will be sad. That is the plan.
