The Young and the Restless is known for their sex scenes in stables, on airplanes, while locked in a vault, and that weird shadow puppet thing at the clinic. But we’ve never seen a scene as magical as the one earlier this week between Devon Hamilton and Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor.
Young and the Restless Foreshadowing
We knew it was coming. Once Devon (Bryton James) decided he wanted to play a role in the life of Dominic, the son he helped Abby (Melissa Ordway) conceive with her husband, Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd), we knew he and Abby would grow closer. Especially when Chance was presumed missing, and Devon stepped in to support Abby. And then, when Chance was dealing with his Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. And Devon stepped in to support Abby.
Now that Abby was so upset about Chance telling her he didn’t think she was supportive of his police career, what options did she have but to run straight to Devon and complain? Devon commiserated. And you know what commiseration leads to on soaps.
Young and the Restless: Caught In the Act
But that’s when things got weird. We weren’t surprised when the couple had sex. We were, however, a bit surprised when they had it all over the house. Against the wall, on the stairs, on the rug. And how did they get from one location to the next?

As far as we can tell, they…apparated. It’s a Harry Potter thing. One minute you’re here, the next minute you’re there, with no steps, or break from slobbering over each other, in between.
How did they do it? Abby is a Newman and an Abbott. Maybe that makes you super-powered? The same goes for Devon, who is a Winters and a Chancellor (kind of, not really; he’s not related to Phillip Chancellor, but if Theo was called an Abbott though not related to John Abbott, maybe that’s just how they roll in Genoa City). Like we said: Magic!
