The Young and the Restless viewers know that Tucker McCall returned to Genoa City with an agenda. However, with his engagement to Ashley and selling his company, it’s unclear if he still has the same plans. For his performance, Soap Hub Performer of the Week honors for Y&R are presented to Tucker’s portrayer, Trevor St. John.
Trevor St. John: Y&R Performer of the Week
This week, Tucker seemed to have his hands in lots of storylines. He and Audra had pointed conversations, and it wasn’t quite clear what was going on with the two former lovers and conspirators. It seemed like lots of stuff going on between the lines, and St. John did an excellent job playing with his pointed looks and body language.
Tucker’s scenes with Ashley were wonderful. He seemed genuine in his feelings for his beautiful fiance. However, he’s also insecure about Ashley’s feelings for him. St. John showcased Tucker’s vulnerability as they interacted. Although things were awkward at Abby’s (Melissa Ordway) and Devon’s abode (Bryton James), again, the actor managed to reveal Tucker’s real love for Ashley as they discussed wedding preparations. He also very obviously repeated that the mansion was his mother’s house, which didn’t seem so subtle.
Of course, when Tucker confronted Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), he showed more of his shifty side. The devious, scheming Tucker. He couldn’t stand that Phyllis and Diane (Susan Walters) weren’t at each other’s throats, and St. John choosing to raise his voice illustrated the character’s extreme frustration. He managed to create a high level of fear in Phyllis, and she worried about his threats to get rid of Conner.
Bravo, Trevor St. John, on excellent performances this week! We can’t wait to see more of what happens with Tucker.
