The Young and the Restless viewers know that Sally Spectra will do what it takes to be successful and make a name for herself. For his/her performance, Soap Hub Performer of the Week honors for Y&R is presented to Sally’s portrayer, Courtney Hope.

Courtney Hope — Y&R Performer of the Week

Sally has the eye of two men — brothers — in Genoa City. Both Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) want her, and Hope did an excellent job this week showcasing just how torn Sally is. On the one hand, she seems like a better version of herself with Nick, and Hope shows that through Sally’s sweet smiles and sincere expressions. However, on the other hand, Sally is the most herself with Adam, which Hope portrays through wistfulness, imbuing Sally with a bit of her edge.

Of course, when a drunken Adam popped the question out of nowhere, Sally wasn’t happy. Courtney Hope let everybody know by the way she delivered the lines in her tone of voice, body language, and her frustrated facial expressions. Even though the situation was completely absurd and she knew Adam was drunk, Hope ensured that viewers realized that a part of Sally wanted to say yes to Adam. Of course, she stiffened her backbone (literally), and once again chose Nick — the safer and more stable option.

Interestingly enough, Hope ensures we realize that Sally isn’t settling with Nick. She seems to truly see the benefits of spending time with the elder Newman brother, and she also obviously cares for him. Of course, Adam did make a point when he reminded Sally that she was keeping part of herself from Nick because she worried he wouldn’t like her. The actress does show a mostly soft and giggly Sally, who also has quite a bit more self-confidence when she is with Nick. However, she hasn’t quite let out the crazy or the insecure (at least too much) just yet.

Bravo, Courtney Hope, on a wonderful performance this week! We look forward to seeing how this love triangle plays out in the coming weeks and months.
