The Young and the Restless viewers know that Victoria Newman is a chip off the old block, and she’s made that abundantly clear in her recent business and personal dealings. For her performance, Soap Hub Performer of the Week honors for Y&R is presented to Victoria’s portrayer, Amelia Heinle.

Amelia Heinle: Y&R Performer of the Week

Heinle really revealed Victoria’s ruthless side this week. She did so by showing Victoria’s strength, but she tempered it slightly with her desire for Nate (Sean Dominic). The actress used somewhat softened body language as Victoria attempted to seduce Nate, inviting him to join her upstairs. She certainly seemed ready for a role in the hay, and Victoria’s imagination showed her and Nate passionately in bed, and Heinle’s physical demeanor and facial expressions revealed how she anticipated it to be to the viewers.

Obviously, Victoria knows that Nate is in a relationship with Elena (Brytni Sarpy), but Heinle conveyed that it didn’t bother Victoria at all. In fact, much like Victor (Eric Braeden), Victoria wanted to feel the power and thrill of taking what she wanted without worrying about the consequences. The actress’s vocal tone and determined look in her eyes expressed these ideas.

Then, when Victoria ran into Elena at Crimson Lights, she managed to talk to her with a total lack of shame for her thoughts and actions. In fact, she inserted some innuendos that left Elena concerned about things between Victoria and Nate, which is just what Victoria wanted to see happen.

Heinle also bared Victoria’s strength in her business dealings. She went to see Devon (Bryton James), and Heinle ensured that Victoria kept her cards close to her vest. She kept the conversation casual, but Devon wasn’t having it. Also, she overplayed her hand a bit when she seemed a bit too interested in McCall Unlimited, and Heinle nailed it perfectly.

Bravo, Amelia Heinle, on an excellent performance during this shortened week. We can’t wait to see what happens next for Victoria.
