Phyllis already seems trusting of him. She’ll do whatever she wants, even if it causes her more problems. But why is she so trusting of Cane, so early on? Y&R fans wondered about this on Reddit. Is it because Phyllis is eager and desperate? Or is it because she has no one else in her life?

“Why is Phyllis so trusting of Cane?” the original Redditor asked. From a business perspective, she pretty much has no one left, other than Nick,” one Redditor responded. However, some fans think Phyllis shouldn’t write herself off. She’s a smart businesswoman who can work her way around computers.

She trusts Cane because no one else wants to work with her. Billy (Jason Thompson) just fired her from his company. Phyllis could start her own company or ride Cane’s coattails, but this is the only option she has left. She’s thirsty for success because she needs to prove everyone wrong about her. Even if that means working with the enemy.

One fan wrote, “Because Phyllis is out of her goddamn mind.” This can be both a good and a bad thing. She’s willing to take on risks and think outside of the box, especially if it works in her favor. But another fan summed it up best. “Phyllis is a fool, and Cane knows that!♐🏹” Cane is willing to take on someone who’s eager, even if they’re a little crazy.
