Sally Spectra’s Y&R baby isn’t even born yet on The Young and the Restless, and we can already predict several things. It will be a girl. Soap Biology: Adam already has a son, so his next child will be a daughter. Her name will be Hope, after Adam’s late mother. And the poor little thing will need years of therapy. And not just because her mom’s tight clothes as she heads into her second trimester must be cutting off much-needed oxygen. But because of the following factors.
Sally Spectra and the Y&R Family Tree
Little Hope’s older brother, Connor (Judah Mackey), is also the biological brother of her aunt’s adopted son, Johnny (Paxton Miskin), while Connor’s other brother is Hope’s legal cousin, Christian – who is also her biological half-brother. Her mom is sleeping with her uncle.
Her grandpa Victor (Eric Braeden) hates her mother. And her cousin Faith was kidnapped as a baby by Hope’s dad. Faith’s mom, Sharon (Sharon Case), also kept Christian from Hope’s Uncle Nick for his first year of life. Just keeping track of all that can make a newborn’s head spin.
Young & Restless: Deep Freeze
Try to imagine little Hope’s holiday gatherings. Her mom is with her uncle, her dad is glaring at them both. Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) mom is glaring at Adam (Mark Grossman), Adam’s dad is glaring at Sally (Courtney Hope), Hope’s big sister, Summer (Allison Lanier), is glaring at Hope, and Connor is glaring at everyone who isn’t paying attention to him first. And there’s Abby (Melissa Ordway), who constantly has to remind, “I’m a member of this family, too!”
Y&R Loyalty Oath for Sally Spectra
Assuming Nick and Sally stay together and he is a part of Hope’s life, she’ll likely love him. But she will feel guilty about loving him in front of Adam. So she will pretend to hate him. But she’ll feel guilty about pretending to hate him in front of Sally. Wee Hope will be pulled in all sorts of different directions. Even her first word will be fraught, much less whose hand she’s holding when she takes her first steps. There will be a LOT for her future therapist to unpack. We figured we’d give them a head start!
