Sharon Newman has been a major Young and the Restless player since the early 1990s. She’s suffered all the trials and tribulations of a successful soap opera character. She’s been married, she’s been divorced, she’s been widowed. She’s found a child, she’s lost a child. She’s cheated and she’s been cheated on. She’s also poured and drunk quite a bit of coffee. But here is the last thing Sharon needs to experience – again.

Sharon Newman: You Go, Girl

Fans were excited when, after what felt like an eternity of Sharon (Sharon Case) merely listening to Adam (Mark Grossman) and Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) problems, and cooing over Mariah (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa’s (Cait Fairbanks) off-screen baby, the teen heroine turned leading lady got a new love interest. And not just any new love interest. Sharon hit the sheets with Chance (Conner Floyd), the ex-husband of Abby (Melissa Ordway). The same Abby who once slept with Sharon’s man.

Young & Restless: Scott Free

His name was Scott. He’s Lauren’s (Tracey Bregman) older son. Sure, he was younger than Sharon when they first got together, but, so what? If Sharon’s exes, Nick and Adam, can fight over Sally (Courtney Hope), a woman close to two decades younger, then Sharon can cougar all over the place if she so desires. Despite the bad experience with Scott and Abby.

Sharon Newman: Deja Vu All Over Again

What worries us is that we’re about to watch a Sharon rerun – with Chance in the Scott role. Except, this time, we’re not worried about Abby. Been there, done that, busy living her happy family life with Devon (Bryton James).

We’re worried about Summer (Allison Lanier). She’s been confiding in Chance, crying on Chance’s shoulder, and telling Chance about her marriage troubles. We know where that leads. And we’d be okay with the pairing. If it didn’t mean hurting Sharon. She’s also been there and done that. She doesn’t deserve to do it again.
