Model Teen: What’s Up With Moses On The Young and the Restless?

Summer on The Young and the Restless means a new teen scene. Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines) looked like a great addition when he first came to town. He hit it off right away with Faith Newman, he was interning with his cousin Nate Hastings, living with his big brother, Devon Hamilton. Everything seemed great. Too great.

The Young and the Restless Favorite Son

When Nate (Sean Dominic) had an allergic reaction to shellfish, aspiring doctor Moses didn’t know what an epi-pen was. Now, we didn’t expect him to administer it, he’s just a kid, and they were both lucky that a real doctor, Elena (Brytni Sarpy) was there.

But he didn’t even know what one was? Did he not go to school in the 21st Century, where every cafeteria has a whole assembly line of them — for peanut, gluten, dairy, shrimp, chocolate, etc… allergies? And it’s a good thing it happened, because, otherwise, we’d have thought he was perfect.

Typical Young and Restless Teen

He hasn’t caused any trouble for Devon (Bryton James). He doesn’t drink. He doesn’t do drugs. He doesn’t listen to loud music, play video games in the middle of the night, watch porn, or even make annoying Tik-Toks.

And while we believe he is a well brought up young man who is respectful of Faith (Reylynn Caster), is he not interested in her romantically… at all? It’s fine if he’s not. Despite what all the Newmans might think, she isn’t all that.

It’s perfectly fine for a boy to only be nice to her because he felt sorry that she stole a car and drove drunk and ended up in the hospital. But is he not interested in any other girls? Any other boys? Anything?

Moses Winters — Model Child

It seems like Moses is being written like a dream teen… by someone who hasn’t been a teen – or parented a teen – in quite a while. If you want Moses to be Genoa City’s new heartthrob, he needs at least a personality. And something interesting to do with it.
