Genoa City’s elite went on a glamorous trip to the French Riviera on The Young and the Restless. The train tracks are wiped out, and they’re cut off from the rest of the world. It sounds like something out of a horror story, but this storyline has been giving us major Love Island vibes. Here are three reasons why.
Love Connections
There’s already been a surprising love connection during this trip. Lily (Christel Khalil) and Damian (Jermaine Rivers) locked lips. She confessed her feelings for him after her awkward run-in with her ex-husband, Cane (Billy Flynn). Running into one’s ex will make anyone reconsider their romantic pursuits.
Also, there seem to be a lot of couples on this so-called business trip. We have Sharon (Sharon Case) and Nick (Joshua Morrow), Billy (Jason Thompson) and Sally (Courtney Hope), Abby (Melissa Ordway) and Devon (Bryton James), and the OG couple, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor (Eric Braeden). It feels more like a romantic rendezvous.

Cut Off From the Real World
As previously mentioned, these people are cut off from the real world. That means they don’t have access to Wi-Fi or a mobile network, and they have no idea what’s happening in the real world or back in Genoa City. This gives us Love Island vibes because the islanders are cut off from the real world so they can explore new connections. This backs up the previous statement that this feels more like a romantic trip.
Games and Seductions
Meanwhile, there have been plenty of games and seductions, just like the reality show itself. Audra (Zulekya Silver) has been trying to get her claws into Kyle (Michael Mealor). She’s hoping that she will succeed at her seduction plot. If so, she will win the ultimate prize, which is Vibranté.

There have also been fun and games. We saw Lily and Damian play a fun game of Go Fish. However, Lily admitted that she’s more of a poker player, which brought a fun dynamic to the soap.
