On The Young and the Restless, February 4, Billy was caught in a struggle once again. But he wasn’t thinking about his relationship with Sally. Rather, he only pretended to care. Billy felt caught between his mom and Chancellor, proving it was never about Sally’s feelings.

Key Takeaways

  • Sally never wanted Billy to leave Abbott Communications for Chancellor.
  • Billy never considered Sally’s feelings in this matter.
  • All was revealed on Wednesday’s episode when he mulled over Chancellor and his mother.

Billy Pretends To Care About Sally

In the GCAC dining room, Billy (Jason Thompson, who discusses receiving Billy Miller’s blessing to play Billy) sat alone as he called Sally (Courtney Hope) and left a voicemail. He understood that she felt abandoned by him. He dropped her for Cane’s (Billy Flynn) offer. However, he hopes they can get back on the same page.

However, it was never about Sally. Billy was only concerned about Jill (Jess Walton) and Chancellor. He was torn between the two. Sally was never part of the equation.

Billy has been worried sick about Jill since her health took a turn for the worse. He admitted to Jack (Peter Bergman) that he’s not ready to lose her. Jill’s doctor warned Billy that she must avoid stress during this critical time.

Billy Makes a Difficult Decision

Jack wondered what was on his brother’s mind. He questioned whether his mother’s health condition gave him pause about returning to Chancellor. Billy explained that he wanted to protect a company that meant the world to his mother.

While he wants Chancellor, he also wants to honor his mother and Katherine (Jeanne Cooper). Jack advised Billy to take a break and see his mother instead. Billy said that Jill told him not to visit.

He’s the cause of his mother’s stress. Snapper had already advised him not to make this situation any more stressful than it is. Jack wondered if Billy had already chosen Chancellor over his mother.

Sally’s Removed From the Equation

There are a few things in this world that Billy cares about. He only cares about 1) himself, 2) his mother, and 3) Chancellor. Sally is not on his list of priorities. This conversation with Jack gave insight into their relationship.

Sally could never convince Billy to stay away from Chancellor. In Billy’s mind, he believes he can handle both situations at the same time. He told Jack that he wants to honor Jill’s wishes.

But this could make a delicate situation even worse. Jack worried that this could be Billy’s last chance to make things right with Jill. But Billy wasn’t going to sit around and find out.

He thanked Jack for listening to him before rushing off. Billy had more important matters to tend to. He had an empire to run for his mom’s sake, and he didn’t care what his girlfriend thought.
