The world of daytime was rocked this weekend by the news of Billy Miller’s passing. His years spent on-screen on All My Children, The Young and the Restless, and General Hospital made him one of the most memorable leading men on soaps.
Billy Miller captured hearts during his time as Billy Abbott on Y&R. He took over the role in 2008 and made an instant impact as the messy Abbott sibling. He was edgy, cool, slick, and dreamy — all the things a fan wants in a daytime hunk.
The role of Billy garnered Miller three Daytime Emmy awards, and deservedly so. During his time on Y&R, Billy Abbott had been a gambler, a schemer, and gotten himself into quite a few messes, including his wife being kidnapped for his gambling debt!
Billy’s shining moments came with the death of his daughter Delia Abbott. The hit-and-run accident set off a series of heartbreaking events that had Billy mourning and seeking revenge. His scenes opposite Michael Muhney (ex-Adam) had fans on the edge of their seats during the storyline’s peak.
Miller’s incredible acting and sizzling chemistry made him a fan favorite from the moment he graced fans’ screens until the day he left the show. His presence is missed by viewers and co-stars alike. Here are just a handful of snaps from his memorable tenure in Genoa City.
