When it comes to Young and the Restless, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days, we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of Y&R’s week that was.
Last week, I felt compelled to take The Young and the Restless’s Josh Griffith to task for failing to “get” several of the characters on his canvas – Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) in particular – so you may be surprised to hear that I have nothing but nice things to say about the head writer’s take on Jill Foster Abbott’s (Jess Walton).
There she was in all her glory; “my” Jill. Older, but still luminous. Wiser, but still a pot-stirrer. Catty, but less volatile with it. And she’s still not backward at coming forward. She has Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) pegged as a fellow barracuda, and she’s got Diane Jenkins’s (Susan Walters) number, make no mistake.
There’s never a dull moment when Jill is around; I just wish the visits weren’t so fleeting and so infrequent. Lord knows that The Young and the Restless could use a good shakeup.
* Here’s something that I never thought I’d hear myself saying – I actually feel bad for Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). Imagine how crushed he’s going to be when he learns that he’s nothing more than a pawn in his father’s game.
* Re: the simmering tension between Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic). It’s going to get worse – a lot worse, and it may not ever get better. Here’s hoping that someone, anyone, but preferably Nate, reminds Devon that he ain’t all that. Yes, Nate and Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) did you wrong, but three words – Hilary Curtis WINTERS (Mishael Morgan).
* So, Victoria wants to bring fine art into the digital age…isn’t she, like, a few decades late?
