A Critic’s Review Of The Young and the Restless: Love Triangles & A Juicy Cameo

When it comes to The Young and the Restless, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days, we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of Y&R’s week that was.

The Young and the Restless: The Critic Offers HIS Take

Now, I’m not sure of the consensus, but as far as I’m concerned, the money storyline is a Summer/Kyle/Audra love triangle, NOT a Summer/Chance/Sharon love triangle. And I get it (believe me I do), the Sharon/Chance storyline needs some enlivening because the chemistry between the two is “meh”, but it’s also sweet and unthreatening and I like that.

I also like the hinted reteaming of Red (Michelle Stafford) and Adam (Mark Grossman). I thought the two of them sizzled opposite one another when Stafford made her return to the series back in 2019, but all interaction between the two eventually went the way of the dodo.

And I’d be remiss if I didn’t issue kudos to the show for getting the glorious Barbara Crampton [Leanna Love] back for that juicy cameo…and how about that peek into Leanna and Jack’s (Peter Bergman) past? More, please!

Further Y&R Musings

* I’m tempted to file Victor’s (Eric Braeden) decry that he’d never deliberately torture his family with the notion that he was dead under A Little Research Goes A Long Way (because even a cursory internet search would prove otherwise), but maybe the particular line of dialogue was written to show what a hypocrite TGVN truly is. I doubt it highly, but maybe.

* Is it just me, or has the Abbott family infighting gone from highly entertaining, must-watch soap to uninspired, routine, and highly irritating bother?

In that same vein, does it seem that Sally (Courtney Hope) has lost a bit of street-smart moxie?
