A Critic’s Review Of The Young and the Restless: Chaos Reigns & Glory Days

The author’s opinions on Y&R are his and his alone. They’re suitably scathing, fairly humorous, and normally bang on target.

When it comes to The Young and the Restless, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days, we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of Y&R’s week that was.

The Young and the Restless: The Critic Offers HIS Take

Though chaos reigning in the corporate world (regrettably) remains the storyline de jour, The Young and the Restless gets points for returning Tucker (Trevor St. John) to the canvas with a vengeance.

Despite caring less about whether or not his plot to dismantle Jabot and reassemble it according to his whim, I’m thrilled with Tucker’s antics, be it his luring Audra (Zuleyka Silver) back into his bed, sowing seeds of discord between her and Nate (Sean Dominic), putting the likes of Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Billy (Jason Thompson) in their place, and/or keeping the rest of the Abbott clan on their toes.

Further Y&R Musings

* Considering Daniel’s (Michael Graziadei) reaction to Heather’s (Vail Bloom) news and the peppering of questions as to whether or not he’d consider reuniting with his ex — which was to bed Lily (Christel Khalil) as quickly as possible, in case you’ve forgotten — it seems pretty clear where this particular plot point is headed.

* The highlights of the week continue to be Y&R’s pitch-perfect use of flashbacks to glory days gone by. Cast in point: Nicholas’s (Joshua Morrow) recalling of his first day at Newman Enterprises while wrestling with whether or not to return to the fold.

What do you think? Post a comment!

* Since I so badmouthed gullible Sharon (Sharon Case) last week, allow me to give her credit for actually being able to clock Summer’s (Allison Lanier) obvious mooning over Chance (Conner Floyd).

And while I could understand Sharon falling for Adam’s (Mark Grossman) line of bull hook, line, and sinker, Victor’s (Eric Braeden) willingness to take his son at face value didn’t exactly ring true — especially in light of recent goings on.
