[dropcap]Y[/dropcap]oung star Alyvia Alyn Lind has played the adorable and precocious Faith Newman on “The Young and the Restless” since 2011. Faith has already been the subject of many custody cases. Originally, little Faith was an Abbott until her parents found out that she was a Newman.
With such complicated stories, the actress has her work cut out for her. Here are Five Fast Facts about Lind.
1. Alyvia Alyn Lind is the daughter of Barbara Alyn Woods and producer John Lind. She has two older sisters, Natalie Alyn Lind and Emily Alyn Lind. Acting must run in the family because Natalie and Emily perform as well.
2. Lind made her feature film debut in the 2013 flick “Dark Skies”. Even before she was cast in Y&R, she had recurring roles on “Revenge” as the young Amanda Clark and on “Transparent” as Grace. In 2014, she appeared with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore in another feature film, “Blended”.
3. While she has played Faith since 2011, Lind is probably best known for her portrayal of Dolly Parton in the NBC Universal telefilm “Coat of Many Colors”. Lind was nominated for a Critics Choice Award for Best Actress, along with Rachel McAdams, Kathy Bates and Kirsten Dunst. She was also nominated and won the Movieguide Grace Award for Best Actress. Lind’s favorite part of working on the film was singing her solos and recording “Angel Hill,” an original duet with Parton.
4. Lind shares the middle name Alyn with her mother and two sisters. It came from her maternal grandfather’s name, Allen, who is a salesman for Nunn Bush Shoes.
5. Playing Faith on Y&R is Lind’s “day” job. She can also be seen as the sweet but wisecracking Charlotte in the Nick @ Nite comedy “See Dad Run” with Scott Baio.
