The “Young and the Restless” struck gold when it added Melissa Claire Egan to the cast. Fans quickly fell in love with her portrayal of Chelsea and are thankful everyday for having such a tremendous talent on screen.

5. Waiting on Dawson’s Creek
Egan started her acting career by playing the role of Ilyse Todd on “Dawson’s Creek” in 2001. The part may have been small, but it led to great things, including another bit part on another episode in 2003 as a waitress.
4. One Tree Hill
Egan appeared twice on “One Tree Hill.” The first time she was featured in the series pilot as Melody. She was invited back a second episode for the guest role of Lori. Both appearances were in 2003.

She started off as a blackmailing scheme queen who was pregnant with Billy Abbott’sbaby, but has turned into one of the most beloved heroines on the show. Her romance with Adam Newman won the hearts of fans, and they can’t wait to see more from this power couple.

In 2009, Egan received her very first Emmy nomination for her AMC role. Since then she was nominated yearly from 2011-2014 in the Outstanding Supporting Actress category.
