[dropcap]W[/dropcap] ith an acting career spanning almost 30 years, Steve Burton (Dylan) has always been on top of his game. The sexy star of The Young and the Restless captured audiences with his first screen appearance and has become a super popular cast member in just a few short years. Here are 10 things you may not know about Steve Burton.

10. His Real Name

Some fans may not know this, but Burton’s actual first name is Jack. Born on June 28, 1970, the actor was named Jack Stephen Burton after his father, Jack. The Indianapolis native took on his middle name as to not cause confusion around the house.

9. He Was A Circus Performer

A one-time trapeze artist, Burton appeared on the show Circus of the Stars in 1988. The fun show was an annual event that also showcased Lauren Bacall, Lucille Ball, Tony Curtis, and Hulk Hogan, to name a few.

8. He’s Appeared in More than Just Soaps

Burton’s first acting gig was on the syndicated sitcom Out of this World as Chris, and he’s since made appearances in over 20 TV shows. His credits include Who’s the Boss?, Taken and Intimate Portrait. He was also a guest on The Rosie O’Donnell Show and sat on the stage of The Oprah Winfrey Show.

7. Fan Club Boy

In 2012, Burton appeared on the show High Stakes Poker during the third season as a celebrity guest. He took his winnings and donated all proceeds to his fan club so his audience could build their clubhouse.

6. He’s a Voice Actor

Taking on the voice of Cloud Strife for many video games, including Final Fantasy VII and Kingdom Hearts, Burton gave the character a sense of realism.

5. His First Soap

At age 18, Burton landed his first soap. In 1988, he played preppie high school student Harris Michaels on Days of Our Lives

4. Writer and Director

In 2005, Burton went behind the lens to try his hand at writing and directing. The movie, Laws of Gambling, may not have made it onto movie screens around the globe, but critics enjoyed it. The movie starred Jay Bontatibus, Ian Buchanan, and Gary Edward.

3. Award winner

In 1998,  Burton won his first (and so far only) Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for the role of Jason on General Hospital.

2. His Most Popular Role

There is no argument that GH’s Jason is Burton’s most popular role.  When his character was allegedly killed, fans were beside themselves and even now miss him in Port Charles.

1. His Change to Y&R

After GH, Burton signed a contract to play the part of Dylan, a war vet seeking his long-estranged lover. He originally arrived in Genoa City to recapture Avery’s love. Since then, he’s been in the arms of Chelsea and now Sharon.
